Come join us on Wednesday, March 13th and/or Thursday, March 14th from 10 am-2 pm at Elbow Lake Environmental Education Centre for outdoor activities for the whole family to enjoy. All ages are welcome! We want to encourage everyone to come out and have a fantastic time exploring and learning more about our natural world.
Come learn about winter ecology, join in some outdoor games, or enjoy hiking and geocaching on our trails. We will be investigating the winter survival of animals, recognizing tracks, snowshoeing, and so much more! Feel free to bring your own exploration equipment or borrow our snowshoes, GPSs, binoculars, and field guides.
Please bring your own picnic lunch and there will be hot cocoa and treats available in our main pavilion for participants to enjoy inside or around the campfire. Please remember to dress for the weather!
Registration is required to attend this event and there will be a fee of $10/child per day, to be paid at registration. Register here.
Please note, though parents/guardians are not required to take part in the days’ activities, they do have to stay on-site while activities are taking place.
This event is run by the Queen’s University Biological Station. If you are interested in providing a donation to support environmental education initiatives and enhance our education and outreach programs, please visit here to donate.
