Students circulate and share phrases with one another. While circulating students try to figure out what the unit is about.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">KWL<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Brainstorm KWL Chart: Teacher records all the class knows about water- students can copy chart into their O<em>utdoor Learning Journal&nbsp;<\/em>(introduced in the Teacher\u2019s Guide). The journal will be used for reflection and notes throughout the unit particularly when the students are engaged in learning on the land.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Language Primer<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Students learn the Anishinaabemowin and Kanyen\u2019k\u00e9ha words for water and add words to their Outdoor Learning Journal (introduced in the Teacher\u2019s Guide).&nbsp;&nbsp;Students can hear words on the QUILLS online dictionary (accessible through the QUILLS website).
