A preliminary list of names students can choose from includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Autumn Peltier (Wiikwemkoong First Nation), <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>James Whetung (Curve Lake First Nation), <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Josephine Mandamin (Wikwemikong First Nation), <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Winona La Duke (Ojibwe Nation), <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tara Houska (Couchiching First Nation), <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dallas Goldtooth (Dakota and Dine Peoples), <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Leanne Simpson (Michi Saagiig Nishnaabeg), <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Leroy Little Bear (Blackfoot), <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Helena Gualinga (Equador),&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Isaac Murdoch (Serpent River First Nation), <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Kanahus Manuel (Seewepemc and Ktunaxa), <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Skyler Williams (Mohawk Wolf Clan from Six Nations of the Grand River), <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tasha Beeds (n\u00eahiyaw ancestry), <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ellen Gabriel (Kanehsat\u00e0:ke),<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Vanessa Gray (Aamjiwnaang First Nation), <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Judy Da Silva (Asubpeeschoseewagong, Grassy Narrows) etc.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>4. Students are asked to&nbsp;pick one of these leaders and write a \u201csnapshot of resistance\u201d.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Snapshots should detail:\n<ul>\n<li>What is the individual doing to promote biodiversity?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What community members are involved?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>How do the land-based practices the individual is actively striving to restore preserve biodiversity?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>5. Students can choose the way they want to share their snapshot with the class. As an example, snapshots can be posted to class website or printed&nbsp;out&nbsp;and displayed around the classroom.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>6.
