Earth Day Event: Humans, Freshwater Ecosystems and Water Quality

Join us on April 22nd at 1pm for part two of our Earth Day events. This event is targeted for Grades JK-8 but all ages are welcome.

Let’s Talk Science at Queen’s University will be teaching you about the different bodies of water you can find here in Ontario and the importance of water quality! In our first activity we are going to show you how you can evaluate the quality of a water sample by testing the pH of a few samples using a store bought or homemade pH indicator. In our second activity we’re going to show you how these different bodies of water are all connected and how pollution, like trash or chemicals, in one body of water can spread far away from where the pollution started!

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the event.

This is a free program offered by the Queen’s University Biological Station.
