Where they are and how to find them: Turtle Distributions

Looking for turtles hiding under water could be challenging, especially when you are not looking closely or when conditions are harsh. Here in Dr. Steve Lougheed’s Lab we explore the application of a novel Environmental DNA (eDNA) technique to survey aquatic species of conservation concerns, with higher sensitivity and efficiency. In this talk we will discuss how eDNA could enhance our understanding on the distribution and ecology of two local freshwater turtles in Eastern Ontario: Common Musk Turtle and Northern Map Turtle.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the event.
